Tell me about yourself (where you live, your name, who you are, how would you describe yourself to others, and anything else you can think of)?

My Name is Delores and I live in Columbia, TN with my Husband of 30 years and 20 year old daughter. I also have two Sons, One lives in Franklin, TN and one is going to school in Cookeville, TN. I recently lost my job due to company downsizing, So I now have lots of time to do what I love best, making purses! I like to do craft shows and I am also a vendor in the flea market in Jackson, TN. I started out making a crayon tote bag for my 6 year old niece for her birthday a couple of years ago and it was such a big hit that I make them regularly now. You can find them on my website http://deesdeezigns.com. I don't list them on Etsy because I found another designer that makes them that was here before me.

What do you make? What are your favorite materials to work with?What is your favorite color?

I enjoy creating my purses, handbags, shoulder bags, candy wrapper purses, totes. I also am creating a new line called "my first purse". I love creating fun and colorful bags out of just about any fabric I can find. I love to create with lots of color.

what is your favorite thing you have ever created?

I think my favorite is the Hersheys candy wrapper purse, I am such a chocaholic! plus I love the fabric that I use to coordinate with the wrapper.

What is the worst thing you have ever created?

I have made several trial purses that have not worked out. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I do not have any photos of those. I pride myself on the quality that I put into each and every one of my creations. So if one of those do not live up to my standards I simply will not sell it.

What inspires you to create?

Just walking into any fabric store is like instant inspiration! I can spend literally hours inside a store visually creating my purses.

What is your favorite film/music/book/artist?

hmmmm. this is a tough question. I spend all my spare time in my sewing room. I do have a TV in there and love to watch all the CSI's, criminal minds, and all the shows like that. I downloaded Greys anatomy on my Ipod and I walk on the treadmill to an episode of that show.

Who is the most important person in your life?

That would have to be my Husband of 30 years. He is my Best Friend!

who is your favorite DiY designer?

I have admired many, many designers on etsy. Some that come to mind are blackbags and cajunbaglady. I admire their work because it seems they have the same quality standards that I do. That is not to say other don't, Those two are just the ones that come to mind right now.

Do you have any advice for other DiY designers?

The only advice I have for anyone is "enjoy what you do". It shows in your work!
