Tell me about yourself.

Hi, I'm Hiromi and live close to the ocean. I'm one of those people you'd want around if there were an emergency, especially as I can chat about almost anything to distract you from any real problems. I tend towards being a perfectionist and sometimes, I just need to let that GO or I get nothing done Wink

I have a dry, sometimes twisted sense of humor but I and my friends seem to find it entertaining so it's all good.

What do you make? What are your favorite materials to work with?What is your favorite color?

I suffer a bit from "crafting ADD" so I usually have a google of projects going simultaneously (some for years, LOL). Currently, my passions are making high-quality bath and body products from scratch and painting. Between the two, I manage to surround myself on a daily basis with pretty smells and colors.

What is your favorite thing you have ever created?

Wow, that is a tough one. Up there on the list are my Whipt Puddings (tm), especially in Orange Clove Vanilla

my lip gloss-balms and right now I am loving Orange Thyme and my 2 favorite scents I blended are Stroke Me and Exotic Spicy Fig.

What is the worst thing you have ever created?

The worst is my FUGLY soap - the scent is nice but I don't know what I was thinking because the colors came out gawdawful. I'll try to get a pic of the soap up. On a good note though, a couple of people have bought it anyway, like the scent and it's been great for felters to cover.

What inspires you to create?

My brain. What ever grabs my fancy, seriously. It can be anything, a phrase, a person, a place, a moment or feeling. I have an open file in my brain tagged "remember this (sometimes) useless piece of info" that often fuels my creativity.

Who is the most important person in your life?

Not a single person, but everyone who is in my inner circle! I'm pretty fond of myself too which helps.

Do you have any advice for other DiY designers?

Pursue your own vision, never apologize (the only exception: if you accidentally hurt someone, then apologize), and be nice but never let anyone (in the DIY realm or otherwise) walk all over you.

Who is your favorite DiY designer?

Tons of people over the years.

What is your favorite film/music/book/artist?

Hm, I read like crazy, love music and everything else so I usually don't have a list of favs. Of recent movies though, Little Miss Sunshine and The Departed are up there. Who can resist Marky Mark & Leonardo in a Scorsese movie (De Niro would've made it even better)? Wink

I have to say that Soaps *lip lube in a tube* is the very best I have ever used! I love it. I got Rasberry Lime. I really want to try some of her other products!
